Downhill cycling gloves have to protect your hands from impacts while giving you good control of the bike. They generally have some articulated armour on the back of the fingers and hand for protection. Palms are made from tough material with padding or gel to take some of the sting out of the trail. They're not generally designed to keep you warm!
The quality of the manufacturing is really impressive and the Carbon FIbre knuckles both look mint and perform. Haven't ridden with them yet but they don't feel overly hot and they're pretty flexible for 'big gloves'.
